Nanny FAQ

  • Who are nannies for?
Nannies are for all families with children, whether you're working parents, single parents, or simply need extra support. Nannies provide tailored care for children of all ages, from newborns to late teens. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, or occasional childcare, a nanny can offer flexible, reliable, and attentive support that meets your family's needs. Nannies are particularly helpful for families with busy schedules, those in need of additional help during special circumstances, or families seeking more personalised care than what is available at a nursery. Nannies can also assist with light household duties, help with schoolwork, and take children to extracurricular activities, all while ensuring a safe, nurturing environment in the comfort of your own home.
  • How quick will you send a nanny out to me?
We aim to provide a nanny within 2 hours, or sooner if possible, to ensure your childcare needs are met as quickly as possible.
  • How do you ensure the quality of your nannies?
We carefully vet all of our nannies, conducting detailed interviews, reference checks, and background checks. In addition, all nannies undergo DBS checks and have valid first aid certifications. We continuously monitor the performance of our nannies through feedback from families and offer opportunities for ongoing training to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • How do I pay for my nanny?
We will never ask for your card details. Instead, you will receive an invoice for the services provided. Please note that no payment should be made directly to the nanny—payments are processed through us to ensure a secure and transparent transaction.
  • What are reasonable expenses?
Reasonable expenses are additional costs that we would expect you to cover, in addition to the nanny’s hourly rate. These may include any pre-agreed activities, meals outside the home, or costs for shopping and fuel. Our nannies are instructed to discuss any such expenses with you in advance if they are required during the course of care. Some families may choose to set an allowance for the nanny to use while caring for the child. Fuel expenses will be agreed upon at the time of enquiry and discussed beforehand to ensure clarity.
  • What is the minimum duration for hiring a nanny?
We understand that every family’s needs are unique, which is why we offer flexible arrangements. We like to request a minimum of 3 hours per session to ensure the nanny can provide quality care. For long-term or full-time positions, we can discuss a tailored schedule that works for you.
  • Can I request a specific nanny?
Yes, you are welcome to request a specific nanny if you have worked with one before or if you have particular preferences. However, please note that availability may vary depending on the nanny's schedule. If your preferred nanny isn't available, we will do our best to find a suitable replacement with similar qualifications and experience.
  • What happens if my nanny is unwell or unable to work?
If your nanny is unwell or unable to work due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible and make every effort to arrange a replacement. We understand the importance of continuity in childcare and will ensure you are supported with minimal disruption.
  • What should I do if I have a concern or complaint about my nanny?
If you have any concerns or feedback regarding your nanny, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at info@freedomnannies.co.uk or on 07398250028. We take all concerns seriously and will work with you to address the issue. Open communication is key, and we’re committed to ensuring your complete satisfaction with the care provided.
  • Can I adjust the nanny’s hours or schedule once they’ve started?
Yes, you can adjust the hours or schedule as needed. We understand that family plans can change, and our nannies are flexible. Please discuss any changes with us in advance so we can coordinate with the nanny and ensure they are available to meet your updated needs.
